Technology is great but if you want mass adoption, your ‘technology’ needs to be simple and easy to use. For an online video network, that would mean your video player. Now there’s hundreds of different video players out there and more than a handful of video networks, but how many of them are ‘user friendly’? How many of them let you skip directly to what you want in the video??

If you’re reading this, you probably know the WellcomeMat’s player is different. With the Mat, you can add scenes into your video (chaptering) and call attention to specific parts of your content. Viewers then click and jump directly to that scene, a section of the video that you’ve highlighted! It’s powerful technology, but does it meet the test? Can anyone use it?

Co-Founder Phil often likes to say, “WellcomeMat’s chaptering service (adding scenes into a video) is so easy, even his Grandmother can do it.”

Now I’ve heard Phil’s grandmother used to be a Real Estate Agent (still is I think) but making claims like this… he’s gone too far! So I challenged him.

Can Phil’s grandmother really add chapters into a video? Let’s find out shall we…
